There is an open access policy for parents whose children attend the Nursery. We advise that parents visit with their child before he/she begins and then arrangements for leaving each child for the first time can be discussed. Any particular difficulties are sensitively approached and close co-operation with the parents means that they are quickly overcome.
The management committee includes the post of parent representative, encouraging an active involvement in the running and organisation of the group.
We are committed to ongoing dialogue with parents to improve our knowledge of the needs of their children and to support their families, and we will regularly inform parents about their child’s progress.
We encourage and help parents and families to be involved in their children's learning. They will be encouraged to share the record keeping about their child, either formally or informally.
We took part in the NHS Smile 4 Life programme and achieved the award. This involved the setting working with parents to promote good oral health. For further information see Smile4Life.
We welcome parents who wish to share special interests, hobbies or skills with the nursery children. We encourage the children to choose books from our library and activity packs to share with their parents at home.
